Central Highlands farmer grows cannabis to feed cattle Cansa

Police in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong have destroyed 195 cannabis plants seized from the house of a local man who confessed he planted them to feed his pigs and chickens.

Following tip-offs from local residents, the police found the plants in the garden of Hoang Xuan Vo of Bao Loc City last week.

Vo told the police he planted the cannabis around five months ago because he heard “rumors” that cattle and poultry would grow very fast if they eat cannabis.

Vo was fined VND3.5 million (US$170) for the illegal planting.

Last month, police in Dak Lak Province had arrested two men who were found with cannabis plants that they stole from the house of a man in Buon Ma Thuot City.

Based on their testimony, the police visited the man’s house and found 19 cannabis plants in the garden of Duong Minh Thao, who also said he had planted it to feed his cattle.
