Police in Hanoi are investigating the death of a 39-year-old woman who died after a breast augmentation surgery last Friday, a local official told news website VnExpress.
According to initial information, Bui Bich Loc, a chief accountant at a capital-based company, came to Hanoi Aesthetic Center in Dong Da District for breast augmentation and eyelid surgery which were billed at US$2,600 and VND 5 million ($242.36).
After the cosmetic operation, Loc was sent to a room for post-surgery observation, but she soon felt uneasy and nauseous, police said.
Dr. Pham Van Ai, director of the clinic and who conducted the surgery, called another two doctors from a local hospital for help.
However, it was too late as Loc died soon after, according to police.
According to VnExpress, Ai admitted that his clinic wasn’t licensed for breast augmentation surgery, but because he knew Loc, he agreed to conduct the surgery as she required.
Investigations into the case are still underway.
