Park Ji Sung, the South Korean international playing for England’s Premier League club Manchester United, will team up with other internationals to play a match against Navibank Saigon in Ho Chi Minh City on June 15.
Park has officially confirmed with Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) that he and his friends will come to Ho Chi Minh City on the 14th of June for the friendly “Asian Dream Cup” match with Navibank Saigon at 6 p.m. the next day.
The match is organized by the VFF, Korea Football Association and JS Foundation, which was introduced to the public in Korea in February.
The match aims to raise funds to improve football in Southeast Asian countries. The match in Vietnam was chosen as JS Foundation’s first stop because of strong support from the Vietnam Football Federation and a huge fan-following for Park.
According to the notice sent to VFF, the match will feature former Japanese star Hidetoshi Nakata and South Korean players Lee Chung Yong and Ki Sung Yueng.
Park said he will also invite his Manchester United teammate Patrice Evra and other former Manchester United players but he won’t officially announce the starting line-up until after the European Champions League final match between Manchester United and Barcelona at England’s Wembley Stadium in London on May 28.
