The third Mövenpick Charity Golf Tournament will take place on Saturday 14th May at the Song Be Golf Resort in Binh Duong Province.

Proceeds of the event will be go to two organizations this year: KOTO, a vocational training center for street and disadvantaged youth; and Heartbeat Vietnam, a fund that provides treatment for poor children with heart defects.

The Mövenpick Hotel group is looking to replicate the success of the first two editions of the tournament, organized in Hanoi and northern areas in Vietnam in 2009 and 2010, in the southern part of the country this year.

The tournament aims to provide “a great day out for a good cause” and an opportunity for networking. The golf competition and award dinner will be attended by approximately 140 players, including regional executives, diplomats, heads of multinational companies and expatriates living in Vietnam.

The tournament will also have prizes for “Nearest to the pin,” “Longest drive” and every golfer’s dream – a hole-in-one.

Corporate sponsors of the tournament, BMW, UNIQUE Jewelry, Turkish Airlines and Gamma Vietnam are offering great prizes for hole-in-one drives.

“As a hole-in-one sponsor, we bring to all players the chance to win our BMW X1 Summer Edition at hole #5,” said Horst Herdtle, CEO of BMW Euro Auto. “With its powerful, sporty and elegant styling, the BMW X1 is a trailblazer in terms of driving pleasure,” he said.

Vinaliving, a real estate firm, is also one of the event sponsors. Funds will also be raised through a raffle, supported by numerous sponsors, that will take place during the award dinner at Mövenpick Hotel Saigon.

“We are glad to see such enthusiasm, not only from the players but also corporate sponsors. The number of companies that step forward to support our tournament is growing each year.

“We at Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts are aware of our social responsibilities and not only help local charitable organizations but the community as a whole. It is encouraging knowing that so many people are standing beside us and working together for the benefits of less fortunate people,” said Knuth Kiefer, General Manager for Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts Vietnam.

KOTO founder and CEO, Jimmy Pham, said: “We’re so grateful for the way Mövenpick reaches beyond its core business to support local organizations such as ours. I’d like to thank

Mövenpick for its generous support, but also take this opportunity to say I hope we can work together to place our graduates at its hotels worldwide.”
